SS501 Kim Hyun Joong’s fan club recently donated 10 million Won, or 9000 USD, in time for the closing of his drama, MBC’s ‘Playful Kiss’.
On October 21st, Kim Hyun Joong’s fan club, called ‘My Club Kim Hyun Joong Powerful Supporters‘, donated the $9000 USD to the ‘Beautiful Foundation’ under the fan club’s name. Back in February 2010, the same fan club also collected $13,300 USD and created a ‘Kim Hyun Joong Scholarship Fund’ through the Beautiful Foundation. Their recent $9000 USD donation will be an additional contribution to this scholarship fund.
A representative of the ‘Powerful Supporters’ stated, “After the announcement that the broadcasting event for the last episode of ‘Playful Kiss’ will be donating the admission fee of 10,000 won ($8 USD) to charity, fans wanted to do something special too. As fans, we support the meaning of sharing, and happily decided to hold a special event for the occasion.”
An associate of the ‘Beautiful Foundation’ revealed, “The donation for Kim Hyun Joong’s scholarship fund was a contribution from about 300 donators. Kim Hyun Joong’s Scholarship Fund is being used by those in the society who require help with child care facility funds and university tuition fees.”
Meanwhile, the last episode of ‘Playful Kiss’ is set to air on October 21st.
